One my absolute favorite writers is leaving fandom (I hope a hiatus, but sadly it may be permanent). Pushdragon talks about it here.

I love that she wants to go out on a high note. She just finished the Reliquary Series (Lucius/Harry) and OMG is it good (Yeah, I know I've been pimping that forever).
